Home Healthcare
It would not be an exaggeration to describe the past year as one of huge transformational change for Visionwest’s Home Healthcare service.
The most significant aspect to Home Healthcare’s year has been the completion of Part One of the Mobility Project. As the associated changes are embedded into our daily processes, they will bring a major transformation to our work culture and our ability to efficiently deliver effective in-home healthcare services. Clients immediately found it easier to contact us and Support Workers enjoy the way MobilityPlus works, including that they no longer have to deal with paper timesheets and that in-between travel times are now automatically calculated. A full overview of this extensive project is included in the Milestones section of this report.
On 30 May 2024, new offices for the Waikato branch of Home Healthcare were officially opened in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. The branch had outgrown its previous offices, and we’re excited about the boost in staff morale and efficiency that this move will enable. A full overview of this move is also included in the Milestones section of this report.
In November 2023, a new management structure was implemented within Home Healthcare. This national leadership arrangement will see us moving away from the previous regional structure to a more centralised and efficient oversight arrangement. The national appointments made were, Noel Hensman (National Relationship Manager), Lisia Halapua (National Customer Experience Manager), and Fatima Juson (National Clinical Manager).
As of 30 June 2023, over 1050 of our Support Workers were trained in and using MobilityPlus, our new mobility system.
While the number of clients has dipped slightly, the hours of care delivered has increased signalling an increase in the overall level of client need.
The national shortage of trained Support Workers continues to make recruitment a challenge – one we have proactively focused on to overcome.
As a measure of the quality of Visionwest Home Healthcare’s service delivery, 69% of staff are qualified at Level 2 or higher.

Rose’s Story
Rose lived an active life. It was after having shoulder reconstruction surgery that her life changed. For the past ten years, Rose has had Support Workers from Visionwest Home Healthcare helping her with all the household tasks which require shoulder movement and strength she no longer has.
